In 30 years as a professional photographer, David Allen has taken photographs for City & Country Home, TV Guide, Architectural Digest and Canadian Homes & Gardens. He has photographed prominent Canadians such as film director Norm Jewison, actress and performer Cynthia Dale, the great Bobby Hull, Rod Taylor, the star relief pitcher for the 1969 Miracle Mets, who went on to become a distinguished Toronto medical sports doctor and the late Barbara Frum and Moe Koffman.

Over the years, in addition to such high profile assignments, he has shot photos internationally for design companies, and his work has illustrated CD covers, packaging and corporate annual reports. He has taken photographs while hanging out of the open doors of helicopters, underground in gold mines, and recently at a Kwakwaka'wakw potlatch on Vancouver Island.

"I always found myself getting curious and wanting to learn more about the subjects I was photographing," he said recently. That curiosity, along with his life-long enjoyment of presenting and entertaining, have led David Allen naturally into his most recent venture, Tiny World Shows, a series of customized and interactive slide presentations, suitable for children. During the past few years David Allen has presented them to 1000's of children in libraries, schools, museums, and other venues in Toronto.

David Allen grew up in Cheltenham, England, and immigrated to Canada at 18 years of age. "It was the 1960's," he said, "The only two career choices were rock star or photographer." David Allen currently lives in Toronto with his wife and two daughters.
